More Highlights from NeoCon 2011

New thinking, new resources, and new products continued!. Here are more of our favorite new furniture style introductions from NeoCon 2011, the nation’s largest commercial furniture show.

This is our second in a series, so be sure to watch for more posts coming soon.

First Office develops the next stage in the evolution of the cubicle:

It is called “STAKS Crossover Casegoods”.

“First Office introduces STAKS, a new crossover casegood™. Designed to span from the private office to open plan workspaces, STAKS provides precise, customizable design with the power of a system and personality of a modern studio.”

I like the openness of the floor plan area.  To me this design will work best in areas with high ceilings because of the concentration of staffing in a low paneled open plan.  While I like the openness of the style, it will be important to address acoustics in the project designs.

“Crossover casegoods™ are cost effective, providing the benefits of a panel system such as division of space and convenient access to wiring, without the high cost of maintaining a panel system.”

The under structure of the STAKS series reminds me of the old GF line that was very popular in the 1970’s.  I like the new interpretation of the line that varies from both traditional systems furniture and standard desking systems.  At CDG, we think this is Fresh, Fun & Fabulous.
