Modernization of mid-century design

Donning it’s original 1960’s-era design trends, this residential facility was long overdue for a facelift. The client’s goal was to modernize the interior spaces without making structural changes.

Washing the existing beams, wood-clad ceilings and block walls in a soft light neutral color transformed these once overwhelming elements into a subtly textured backdrop for contemporary shapes and colors. Espresso wood tones and bright photographic artwork paired with both cool and warm whites added contrast and vibrancy to the space. Care was taken to select high-performing, durable and easy to maintain materials as well as furnishings that provide a variety of table, arm and seat heights to accommodate different mobility needs.
